Guidance that helps the sector operate safely and confidently

The physical activity sector faces a constantly shifting landscape, as consumer expectations, standards and legislation evolve. To achieve our shared mission of getting more people active, the sector must improve continuously to meet the demands of modern society.

ukactive is here to inform and protect members by monitoring and identifying operational and reputational risks, establishing sector guidance and supporting best practice. Each of these areas marks an opportunity for improvement and growth.

ukactive is not a regulatory body but we do provide support and resources to help our members deliver safe, inclusive and compliant environments and practices.

We bring together risk management and health and safety experts, alongside consumer groups and the latest consumer insights, to maintain our Sector Risk Register, identify emerging trends and raise standards across the sector.

We also act as the voice of the physical activity sector, engaging with policy makers, and sitting on British and European standards committees, to inform the development of fair and effective regulations that benefit our members and the public they serve. To raise an issue for consideration with sector representatives on ukactive’s Standards and Legislation Committee, submit our enquiry form and a member of the team will be in touch.

The Active Standard.

The quality mark for safety, trust, and excellence.

The Active Standard (TAS) is ukactive’s nationally recognised quality mark for safety, trust and operational excellence. Developed with leading sector partners, TAS helps operators demonstrate compliance, reduce risk and deliver safer, more consistent experiences across every facility. Whether you’re a public, private or independent operator, TAS provides a clear framework to strengthen standards and build confidence with customers, colleagues and partners.
