Independent Non-Executive Director and Board Lead for Welfare and Safety
Claudette Elliott brings over 40 years of experience in health and social care. Starting as a volunteer at a local hospital in Manchester, she then served as an auxiliary nurse at Wythenshawe Hospital for seven years. In 1992, she qualified as a social worker and in 1999, became the Assistant Director for Older Peoples Services at Manchester City Council. Returning to the NHS in 2003, as a senior manager focusing on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, collaborating with health providers across Manchester for nine years. By 2013, she was Chief Operating Officer/Deputy Accountable Officer at South Manchester Clinical Commissioning Group, leading the development of integrated health and care teams. Claudette transitioned into management consulting, taking on roles such as Executive Director for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion at King’s College Hospital London and the Southeast London Integrated Care System. She also served as a Programme Director at Shropshire Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care System, driving local integrated care programmes, with a range of partners across, public, private and VCSE sectors
Currently, Claudette is a Non-Executive Director at Mersey and West Lancashire Trust and University Hospital Liverpool Group and recently became the Chair for Pennine Care, a Mental Health Foundation Trust in Greater Manchester.
She is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our population and is passionate about the benefits that partnerships between health and leisure services, can bring to improving health outcomes individuals and communities.
