Private Sector Benchmarking is a unique service delivered by ukactive for its members in collaboration with 4GLOBAL, with contributions from ukactive’s membership, to show an accurate picture of the scale and impact of privately operated fitness facilities in the UK.
This ukactive service offers the only data platform that gives organisations in the private sector the ability to benchmark their performance on a quarterly basis and gain insights from the trends and changes over time.
Why are we collecting private sector data?
High-quality data and insight are fundamental for understanding and showcasing the growth of the UK fitness and leisure sector. By accurately assessing sector performance, valuable insight is provided privately to ukactive’s members to inform operational decisions and aggregated, anonymised data helps external stakeholders to understand the real value of the sector.
The Private Sector Benchmarking service is already growing by expanding the data set to include independent operators. Alongside data for the public sector, which is collected by Sport England’s Moving Communities report, this service provides reliable quarterly insights that reflect the entire sector’s performance.
Aggregated, anonymised data is also used by ukactive to support its lobbying work, growing the evidence base for the sector and demonstrating the opportunity for policy changes and interventions in a way that the Government understands and values.
