{"id":19098,"date":"2019-06-13T09:00:17","date_gmt":"2019-06-13T08:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ukactive.com\/news\/coachai-fights-off-strong-competition-to-win-activelab-2019\/"},"modified":"2026-03-27T13:59:26","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T13:59:26","slug":"coachai-fights-off-strong-competition-to-win-activelab-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ukactive.com\/cy\/news\/coachai-fights-off-strong-competition-to-win-activelab-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"CoachAi fights off strong competition to win ActiveLab 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>International start-up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachai.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CoachAi<\/a> has been crowned winner of ukactive\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ukactive.com\/cy\/activelab\/\">ActiveLab<\/a> accelerator programme after a live-pitch finale at Active Uprising in Manchester.<\/p>\n<p>Israel-based CoachAi is a virtual companion that interacts with members through their smartphones, using behavioural science to support users to make exercise a regular part of their weekly routine.<\/p>\n<p>The 12-week ActiveLab programme reached its climax at <a href=\"https:\/\/ukactive.com\/cy\/active-uprising\/https:\/ukactive.com\/active-uprising\/\">Gwrthryfel Cefnogol<\/a> on Thursday (6 June), with each of the nine start-ups showcasing their products during a 60-second pitch to more than 800 delegates at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestercentral.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manchester Central<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The audience were asked to vote for their favourite start-up by smartphone, with CoachAi beating the other finalists with 22% of the vote.<\/p>\n<p>The live pitch finale formed the showpiece event for the ActiveLab strand at Active Uprising, alongside six engaging TED Talks-style presentations, exploring the commercial and <a href=\"https:\/\/ukactive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ActiveLab_Report_The_Current_State_Of_FitTech_Web.pdf\">consumer demand for fit-tech<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>ukactive also revealed <a href=\"https:\/\/ukactive.com\/cy\/reports\/the-fit-tech-framework\/\">a new framework<\/a> for the adoption of fit-tech across the physical activity sector, designed to offer practical guidance and support to organisations.<\/p>\n<p>ukactive Acting CEO Huw Edwards said: \u201cWe have been delighted to see the growth in scope and stature of ActiveLab since it launched three years ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year ActiveLab attracted applicants from 14 different countries, showing that it has developed into a global accelerator for budding physical activity start-ups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongratulations to each and every member of the cohort \u2013 they have the potential to reshape the physical activity sector and get more people active.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CoachAI CEO Shai Neiger said:<em> \u201c<\/em>It was an honour and a pleasure to be part of the 2019 ActiveLab cohort, and it really helped us push the company forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re incredibly excited to have won the live pitch, and we look forward to working with ukactive to expand CoachAi, and help more people be more active more often.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>International start-up CoachAi has been crowned winner of ukactive\u2019s ActiveLab accelerator programme after a live-pitch finale at Active Uprising in Manchester.
