Report<\/em><\/a><em> by the All-Party Group on Wellbeing Economics, ukactive offers its response.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>ukactive acting CEO Huw Edwards said: \u201cWe strongly agree with the recommendations of this <a href=\"https:\/\/wellbeingeconomics.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Spending-review-to-ncrease-wellbeing-APPG-2019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">adroddiad<\/a> which rightly puts wellbeing at the heart of Government policy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to radically reprioritise what is most important in our lives, and we know that the prosperity of our nation is intrinsically linked to the health of our people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat means Government must invest in supporting everyone to lead more healthy and active lives, improving our mental health and delivering better care for our most vulnerable citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd physical activity is the golden thread running through all of these issues \u2013 helping to support health and wellbeing from cradle to grave.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe report rightly stresses the critical need for greater support for our children and young people, and the urgent need for \u2018good youth centres and meaningful activities\u2019 that are severely lacking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is clear that there is a health and social crisis facing our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2019\/may\/03\/school-sports-facilities-child-healthy-fitness-holidays\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">children today<\/a>, and there is a direct link between this report and our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2019\/may\/03\/school-sports-facilities-child-healthy-fitness-holidays\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">policy recommendation<\/a> to see schools transformed into community hubs over the summer holidays.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnlocking these schools facilities will give more children the meaningful active experiences that address everything from fitness and learning loss through to loneliness and youth crime.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Spending_Review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spending Review<\/a>, the Government must take these ideas very seriously and ensure investment
