British Military Fitness is the first outdoor operator to be awarded the ukactive Outdoor Code of Practice certification, it was announced today. Implemented last year as a part of ukactive's commitment to raising standards for outdoor fitness providers, the Code of Practice offers consumers a seal of approval that ensures that they are exercising in a safe, secure environment, with responsible instructors who have effective outdoor-relevant risk safeguards in place.

"This study cuts to the heart of the work that ukactive have been doing for years to underpin the fight against inactivity with a firm evidence base. It's a welcome piece of work on the European population, but if we look closer to home, a report we released recently Steps to Solving Inactivity showed that UK's inactivity rates are among the very worst in Europe, with around 30% of adults classed as inactive.

In 2013 the Government announced significant reforms to the way apprenticeships are to be designed and implemented in England. New standard based apprenticeships will replace existing frameworks in 2015 as part of the Government's employer driven Trailblazer strategy.

ukactive triumphed last night at the Public Affairs Awards 2014 with a win in the 'Trade Body Campaign of the Year' category for Turning the tide of inactivity. The campaign was up against strong competition from competition from the Airport Operators Association and R3 Association of Business Recovery Professionals.
