ukactive today opened the process for existing members to apply for its newly-formed Membership Council.
The Membership Council, to be chaired by outgoing CEO David Stalker, will be the formal voice of the membership base in ukactive governance and provide the direct and undiluted voice of employers on challenging topics of substance for the sector, such as issues relating to skills and workforce development. The decisions taken by the Membership Council will represent the elected representative voice of employers across the sector.

ukactive today announced the shortlist of candidates who members will be able to vote for in the elections for the new ukactive Board of Directors, which was launched today.
The new Board, which will be chaired by crossbench Peer Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, has been built following a 12 month consultation with ukactive members and partners designed to ensure a governance structure that is fit for purpose and in line with best practice recommended by key agencies such as Sport England.

Crossbench Peer Tanni Grey-Thompson was today announced as the new independent Chair of not-for-profit health body ukactive.
Baroness Grey-Thompson will turn her seasoned campaigning voice to the crucial issue of turning the tide of physical inactivity over the coming years and ensure that the next government turns rhetoric into action on the inactivity crisis.

ukactive is today launching a new strategy for children's physical activity, underpinned by a new 'ukactive kids' membership category and a policy report due to be launched in early June calling for a greater focus on children's activity levels by the next government.
